At the Dyslexia Center of Utah, a formal dyslexia diagnosis is not required for enrollment. While a diagnosis can offer valuable insights, it does not provide the full picture needed to determine the best placement for your child. A diagnosis may confirm dyslexia, but it doesn’t specify how to help whether the challenge lies in spelling, writing, phonemic awareness, or processing. It can be reassuring, but it doesn’t provide the detailed information we need.
That’s why we conduct a comprehensive assessment for every student, regardless of whether they have a diagnosis. Our assessment goes beyond labels, helping us identify your child’s unique strengths, challenges, and learning needs. This deeper understanding allows us to place them at the optimal level within our Magic of Reading (MOR) program and provide personalized instruction tailored to their success.
These assessments are a cornerstone of our approach, ensuring that your child receives the targeted support they need to build confidence and excel in reading.
